Returns and Exchanges

How do I exchange an item?

Items may be exchanged for a different size, provided they are returned to us within 14 days from receiving the goods. The customer will be responsible for the postage of and the safe return of the goods. An additional postage and packaging charge for the exchange item, at the relevant rate, may apply.

In all instances, goods must be returned as new, with no blemish, defect or parts missing, and preferably still in its original packaging. Items may be tried on for sizing, but not used for a workout.

We are not responsible for items that are lost in the post, so we recommend you use a postal tracking service or a service that insures you for the value of the package.

Once your item is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item and processed your exchange. Typically this is within three business days, however, it can sometimes take up to seven business days.

Please note that, for hygiene reasons, socks may not be exchanged once opened.

Cancellation and items no longer required

Defective Goods

All SBD Apparel products undergo a stringent quality control process; we expect our products to live up to the highest standards, and guarantee our products against manufacturing defects.

If a product does not live up to your expectations, please contact us at [email protected] and include your order number, name and delivery postcode. All SBD retailers are authorised to assess warranty claims, so please contact the original retailer of purchase. Warranty claims must be accompanied by proof of purchase.

Shipping

Order Processing

Orders are typically processed and dispatched within one to two working days, but we do endeavour to dispatch orders placed before 2pm Monday to Friday on the same day. You will receive email notification once your order has been fully processed and your parcel is ready to leave our warehouse.

UK & Ireland Delivery

Orders are shipped by DHL on a next working day service to the UK, and a two working day service to Ireland.

Orders can be shipped to over 200 countries & territories by DHL Express Worldwide. While we will endeavour to assist with any customs related issues, the customs clearance and any costs involved are the responsibility of the importer.

Countries with Official Retailers

For countries and territories where SBD Apparel has a retailer, it will be most cost effective for customers to order from their local retailer. Orders received from customers who have a local retailer, will be given the option to be re-directed to that retailer or to submit the order as an enquiry to SBD Apparel. Product Care

 

Washing instructions can be found on the care label on each product.

Singlet

Please hand wash your singlet with a mild detergent in warm water, leaving the garment to air dry.

Knee/Elbow Sleeves

We recommend hand–washing the sleeves with water or a mild detergent (or a specialist neoprene/wet suit detergent), then allowing the sleeves to air dry standing up.

The spin cycle of a washing machine can damage the sleeve, as the sleeve becomes quite bulky when wet, and it can potentially get caught up or damaged by wringing. High heat from a washing machine or a dryer will degrade the rubber in the sleeves (potentially causing shrinkage or brittleness).

Wrist Wraps

We recommend washing the wrist wraps with warm water and a mild detergent, and then allow the wraps to air dry.

Socks

We recommend washing the socks in water no higher than 40 degrees, as this will ensure longevity of the materiel, prevent any potential shrinkage from high heat, and will protect the external and internal materials in the socks. Please do not put the socks through a tumble dryer as the heat can affect the material of the socks.

T-Shirt

We recommend washing the t-shirt at a maximum temperature of 40 degrees. Where possible, please allow the t-shirt to air-dry. If you must you a tumble drier, then we suggest using a cold setting.

Belt

To ensure the outer face of the leather and the stitching retain their original appearance, we would recommend using a regular black shoe polish once every 1-3 months. Polish directly onto the leather and then buff to a shiny finish.

Product Sizing

I’m between sizes on the singlet guide, which should I go for?

Our singlets are manufactured from a stretch fabric, as such the sizing is quite forgiving. If in doubt, take the smaller size. However, athletes who are taller/shorter for their weight class are recommended to adjust up/down by one size.

What size t-shirt should I opt for?

Our t-shirts are a fitted cut, so most customers prefer a shirt one size larger than what they would typically wear.

How do I measure myself for knee sleeves?

Please take the measurements with your leg out straight, but keeping your muscles relaxed. Measure around the centre of your kneecap, and around the top of your calf – roughly where the bottom of the knee sleeve will sit. If your calf is more than a couple of cm larger (or smaller) than your knee, then you may wish to size up (or down) to ensure a good fit.

The tight fit is best suited to powerlifting and squatting as it offers the most compression around the knee. The standard fit is a snug fit, which will be easier to fit and less restrictive, but at the expense of some of the compression. The standard fit is simply the next size up from the tight fit, and is typically suited for general training, Olympic weightlifting and CrossFit.

How do I measure myself for the SBD belt?

We recommend measuring your current belt (even if this is only a basic bodybuilding belt) on the tightest setting you use (do up your current belt at the setting you use, mark where the leather crosses, then measure from that point to the far end of the belt with the belt laid out flat) to give you the circumference of the belt at the setting you usually use.

If you do not have a belt then please measure your waist where the belt will sit (which is normally just above the navel), with your abdominal muscles braced. Please do not use your normal trouser measurement as this will not be accurate for the belt measurement.

We typically recommend a belt where you fall in the middle of the sizing guide, as this will allow you to adjust the belt in either direction depending on your preference of fit/what exercise you are using the belt for, should your bodyweight change, or if you wear the belt over layers of clothes/a neoprene belt.

We typically we look to partner with one company in each country, giving them exclusivity for the brand in that country, so that they have the confidence to sell our products at the full retail price and invest in promoting the brand domestically to build on the international exposure that we invest in.
